About Patio Shades Retractable Awnings
Patio Shades Retractable Awnings helps homeowners and business owners across Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC and Pennsylvania get more use out of their outdoor spaces. We sell and install SummerSpace retractable awnings, drop screens, solar shades, pergolas with retractable roofs and open-air cabanas, and every project starts with a free consultation and a free estimate.
Who We Are
Patio Shades is owned by Eric Sheaffer, and the company has served customers since 2015. Our office is at 1751 Pinnacle Drive #600 in McLean, near Tysons Corner in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Our focus is straightforward: help you choose the right shade product, size and fabric for your deck, patio, porch, storefront or restaurant, then install it properly so it looks right on the building and works the way it should.
Our Installers
Our installers have served Northern Virginia homeowners for more than 20 years. That experience matters on an awning or pergola, where a secure mount and the right pitch make the difference in how the product looks and performs.
Patio Shades handles professional installation in every area we serve: Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. If you would rather install an awning yourself, our measuring guide and installation guide walk you through each step.
What We Offer
Our SummerSpace products come with manufacturer warranties. Awning fabrics are Tempotest, made in Italy, in a wide choice of stripes, solids and linen weaves.
- Retractable awnings: SummerSpace Simple Shade, Performance and Pro Series, with manual crank or motorized operation, remote control, an optional WiFi app, and wind sensors that retract the awning automatically in high wind.
- Drop screens and FlexShade screen systems: exterior shades for decks and patios, and the SummerSpace FlexShade system for screening in a porch.
- Pergolas with retractable roofs, plus Tension Zip solar shades that mount on top of a pergola’s sliding or louvered roof.
- Open-air cabanas for a freestanding shaded spot in the yard.
- Window and door awnings for UV protection and a finished look.
- Commercial awnings for restaurants, storefronts and offices.
